Creating Your Own 15-Minute Web Page
November 11th - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
You know you need a web page for your small business - but haven’t a clue how to
begin.
You are afraid of being ripped off - taken advantage of because you don’t know a
search engine from a diesel engine.
You have heard of Google and Yahoo - but are afraid to mention them in polite company.
Well, this workshop is for you.
Just because we reside in the 21st century doesn’t mean we have suddenly been empowered
with the mystic knowledge of our age. But, guess what? There is really nothing
mystical about this stuff at all.
Jay Warmke of Blue Rock Station will share with you the secrets that web developers
would just as soon keep to themselves. This stuff is really pretty simple and you
can have or create an pretty good web page for just a little bit of money.
Now, obviously you will not create a website from start to finish in 15 minutes -
but we do want to show you that this is not as hard as you may think.
After this course you will be able to create your own simple web site - or more effectively
manage someone else as they create one for you.
You will Learn...
- Just what is the web and how does it work?
- To talk Internet jargon like you know what it means.
- 3 ways to create a web page.
- We will create a simple web page - start to finish so you can see just how “complicated”
this stuff is.
- Bring your web page (if you have one) for evaluation and comment.
- Learn about options (and costs) for having your web site hosted.
- Learn how to build an effective web page for the various browsers on the market.
- See how to increase the hits on your site by improving your ranking with Google and
Yahoo and other search engines.
- What are domain names and how do I get one?
- What makes an effective web page?
Everything begins at 10:00 AM and goes until 4:00 PM with lunch included.
