Women’s Day Out:

Victorian Cottage Garden Tea - Natural Gardening the Old-Fashioned Way

Saturday -March  15th   (12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.)

Sometimes you just need a day away from this insane 24/7 world we seem to have created for ourselves.  This is why Blue Rock Station has created a series of women-only, restful and nurturing workshops.   As with all these events - class size will be extremely limited so register early so you won’t be disappointed.

Join Annie for a one-of-a-kind experience  - view fabulous examples of authentic Victorian Cottage Gardens, enjoy lovely food and a proper cup of tea.  She will also throw in a little information about natural gardening techniques, companion planting and natural insecticides.  Spring is here (really, it is) and it is never too soon to begin planning your garden.

After a brief tour of Blue Rock Station guests will settle in for delicious little sandwiches, scones and a proper cup of tea.   Annie will talk about different types of Victorian cottage gardens, and how to create one of your own.

She will show slides of cottage gardens  taken during her visits to some of the finest gardens in England - as well as the Chelsea Flower Show, held in London.  Everyone will come away with tons of ideas for this year's garden.

Registration for this event is only $25 and includes a tour of Blue Rock Station, the presentation, as well as a the “tea”.  To register for this event, e-mail Annie at annie@bluerockstation.com  or give her a call at (740) 674-4300.

Tour Blue Rock Station:

First stop is a stroll around the grounds of Blue Rock Station - home of Ohio's first Earthship, an amazing home made of tires, cans, bottles and earth.  During the summer there will be a variety of projects to view including a plastic bottle greenhouse and the espalier wall.  You will tour the home for an insight into how this structure uses the sun and the earth (as well as various bits of "trash") to create a warm and welcoming home.

Then tea and a presentation:

After a snack and a proper cup of tea, Annie Warmke will talk about different types of Victorian cottage gardens, and how to create one of your own.  She will show slides of cottage gardens  taken during her visits to some of the finest gardens in England and France - as well as the Chelsea Flower Show, held in London  which will offer tons of ideas for future gardens.

The cost for this event is $25 per person.  The fee includes the talk,  a light lunch, a tour of Blue Rock Station, as well as a proper cup of tea.

Please reserve your spot early  so that you will not be disappointed.   For reservations call us at (740) 674-4300 or e-mail us.
