Exclusive Green Weekend

“Get-Away”

Aug 21-22 - two nights, two days

(or call to schedule your own weekend)

Sleeping in the forest at Blue Rock Station, surrounded by the soft sounds of nature, is an experience we have pretty much kept for ourselves - until now.

BRS is offering an exclusive weekend.  You can stay in the Firefly or the MayApple (tiny strawbale cabins in the woods), The Happy Nest (twin bed), or camp in a tent (bring your own or rent ours for $10).

If you have ever wondered what it might be like to chuck it all, build a straw bale (or Earthship) out in the woods, milk the goats, do a bit of gardening - here is your chance to experience it for a fraction of the cost of telling your boss off in a moment of frustration and walking out the door.

Or, if you are seriously considering building an Earthship or straw bale home and want to spend a long, leisurely weekend discussing real world concerns - here is a pleasant opportunity at a fraction of the cost of formal consulting.

Upon arrival, you’ll settle in with a proper cup of tea and a little tour of the farm and meet all the critters.*

Your options for accommodations are the Firefly** tiny strawbale (double & twin bed), primitive camping on the hill or in the woods (our tent our yours), or staying off site at a nearby location (ask us about recommendations). There is a solar shower, and the straw bale privy that will provide all of the comforts of home, plus a million dollar view.

Your meals will be locally grown and produced food, and eaten family-style with Annie and Jay, and any other guests that might be visiting for the day. No liquor is served, but there are healthy drinks and snacks in between meals.

During this weekend, our time is yours. You can spend time working with Annie and Jay on a pre-determined project, or create a green living plan for your future. Or if you would rather, you can help milk the goats, do a bit of gardening, or just sit and read. It’s your time to use…two days of thinking about the future, or resting your brain…it’s your call.

You will feel changed by this experience. It is our hope that you will go home feeling rested and yet energized by your time at Blue Rock Station.

What to bring:

· Sturdy shoes that lace up

· Sun glasses

· Sun screen

· Bug spray, if you use it

· If you prefer, your own pillow

· A sweater for cool evenings

· A walking stick (or we can provide one)

· A reusable drink container for water

Pricing:

$115  per person, including camping (with own tent)

BRS is offering an exclusive weekend for two (this deal is only open to two people - so you will be our exclusive guests for the weekend).

Your cottage, The Firefly, is an adorable strawbale building designed by French engineer and artist Nans Thomassey. The cottage is located just north of the Earthship, resting at a natural overlook down into the “holler”. This beautiful restful location provides two single beds. The porch has comfortable chairs for watching nature, reading or just contemplating life.

Your meals will be locally grown and produced food, and eaten family-style with Annie and Jay, and any other guests that might be visiting for the day. No liquor is served, but there are healthy drinks and snacks in between meals.

wp35ebdc84.gif "Hello Jay and Annie and Catlyn,
Thanks so much for the update and a very warm thanks for your hospitality last weekend.  Alyssa and I really enjoyed our stay with you - your family and all of the lovely animals in such a peaceful and special setting was wonderful.   I especially appreciate the time we had to talk and learn from you so many life-changing lessons.  I look forward to returning for some of your workshops, etc.
BTW:  I loved the two books I purchased - on solar cooking and taking care of pets and animals.  Love your wit and wisdom.  Very helpful and entertaining as well.”

Our very best to you and your family,

Claudia Yamasue
