by Annie & Jay Warmke

Imagine cooking with the sun.  With a simple box, a bit of tape and glue, you can make your own solar cooker to prepare meals at home or in an emergency.

Explore how solar cookers work, what you can do with these versatile little items, and how to prepare your favorite dishes.

But solar cookers are not just for meals.  Learn how to purify water, sterilize soil, rid grains of insects and more.

Also contained in this booklet are step-by-step instructions on how to make your very own solar cooker - for under $5.

Annie and Jay Warmke have been using and enjoying solar ovens at Blue Rock Station fro over 10 years.  Join us in discovering how great it is to cook using the rays of the sun.

wp35ebdc84.gif ”hello!
I finally got around to making a solar box oven. I saw your seminar in Pennsylvania last September at the PA Energy Fest.
I never finished it until 2 PM yesterday, so I stuck a potato, a carrot and an apple in, to see what happened. I had to go away, so I figured nothing wasted.
Of course, what happened was that the clouds took over, and then about 6 PM there was  a thunderstorm.
I got home around 7:30, the box was sitting in water and the sun had never come back out. I went to get the pots out --and they were still warm! the apple had actually reached the transparent phase.
I have a way to go in learning how to cook, but I am excited about this. I could not believe those pots were still warm after sitting in the cold for over an hour.
I am taking it with me to Haiti in July.
thanks for your newsletters. One of these days I must come out for a class or two.”
