Mayapple Straw Bale Cabin

During our Complete Straw Bale Workshops – we tried to construct a number of relatively small projects pretty much from start to finish. The MayApple (all the buildings are named by the group that constructs them) was built during a 2009 workshop and finished by the 2010 class (with a little help from our interns).

This sleeping cabin is a variation of the original Firefly design – just a bit larger with a screened in front porch area. The cabin is located down in the woods along the wooded trails. It also features two single beds (bunk beds) and a stone floor.

This cabin is a great little get-away place to stay for writing, or sleeping out if you want to get away from it all – or for some of our less social interns.
