Learn a few of the basics of food forest plants (what are they useful for, how do they generate revenue? and more). Also learn how to design your own food forest. The afternoon will be spent learning the basics of food forest design and will include planting and mulching the new BRS West Field Food Forest.

April 28th, 1 to 4 pm

Plant a Food Forest at Blue Rock Station (Philo OH): Plant propagation mini-class and help plant the next phase of the new food forest. (fee: bring your good mood and a meatless dish to share)

Propagate some native plants, learn about food forest design, and then plant a few things in the emerging Warmke Farm food forest. Learn a few of the tricks to starting your own elderberry, pussy willow, false indigo, or thornless red raspberry. After a snack you can choose three different varieties of plants to put into the ground at the new food forest. Next year you’ll receive an invitation to return for a cup of tea, and to see how your plants are contributing to the new food forest.
