Vetting the Farmer

Some considerations before you jump to the link or want to talk to your loved ones or friends about this idea:

  • If you are on the potential farmer list, you will need to commit to a few monthly meetings with the appointed committee to get to know each other and sort through questions and challenges.
  • lama lounge

You will need to commit to attending the annual Goat Stock Reunion in Philo, OH July 11th and 12th. There might be a need to stay over until the 13th for a morning wrap up meeting. On the 11th there will be a get acquainted networking potluck in the evening, and the 12th in the morning will be a board meeting. Goat Stock Reunion will begin around noon and go until evening. It is possible to stay overnight in one of the tiny one-bed cabin.

  • There will be two separate workdays on October 11th and October 12th (one for each of the two farmer choices). Former interns, current interns, our attorney and friends will attend, to work on a project together.
  • Norman, the livestock guardian dog is a consideration. He is part of the farm with an important job as a guard and friend. He cannot move to town because he is a fixture of BRS just like the diesel mule. He is five years old and knows commands. He does not like to go in a vehicle – he loves his job. The new farmer will need to love him as much as Annie does.
