Recently, I have been thinking a lot about college as I’m about to enter my senior year. At first I was thinking of going to a two-year college, studying wildlife management. This summer during my internship, my mentor Annie Warmke helped me to realize that – although there was nothing wrong with working in wildlife management – I could do a lot more with my life.

I’m really focused on biodiversity and passionate about protecting native plants and animals in my area. This led me to start looking into environmental science and environmental studies as possible majors in college.

After on some brainstorming with Annie, we have planned two college visits this summer. In my next entry I will tell you all about those visits and which one college I feel is my first choice.

I’d love to hear what you guys think of my blog. You can find me on Instagram at starla_van_gundy, or email me at vangundystarla@gmail.com. Continue to join me on my summer journey and tune in for my next blog.
